Written About Angelo and Josephine's:   On February 25th, Angelo and Josephine Scipione would have celebrated 80 some years of marriage, and on February 26th, 2004, a gourmet food market named in their honor opened in the former living room and dining room of their Manayunk home. Angelo Scipione met Josephine Serluca, who was a wonderful cook, in a grocery store. They married and had 3 daughters and a son and purchased their 4241 Main Street home in l937.

Today, their 2 daughters, as well as a grandson and granddaughter operate the business lovingly called Angelo & Josephine’s Gourmet Foods Market. Their wedding picture hangs on the back wall under the bright lights of their antique crystal chandeliers and some archways that Angelo constructed.
